We are delighted to announce the official launch of the Erasmus+ co-funded project Digital Diversity: Crafting Inclusive AI Narratives (D2CIN) — Project No. 2025-1-DE02-KA210-VET-000354956. The project officially started on January 19, 2025, and will run for a duration of 12 months.

D2CIN brings together two forward-thinking organisations from across Europe: Mimic Productions GmbH from Germany, acting as the project coordinator, and Budakov Films Ltd from Bulgaria, as a key partner. Together, the consortium aims to bridge the gap between emerging AI technologies and the principles of inclusion, accessibility, and ethics within vocational education and training (VET).

Why D2CIN? Addressing Emerging Needs in Inclusive AI Education

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the ways we learn, teach, and interact. However, alongside the immense potential of AI comes an equally critical need to ensure that these technologies are fair, transparent, and inclusive. Many educators and professionals in the VET sector face challenges when it comes to integrating AI tools responsibly, particularly in understanding and mitigating algorithmic bias or ensuring that digital interfaces are accessible to all learners.

D2CIN was designed to respond to this urgent need by promoting ethical and inclusive AI literacy across Europe. The project supports VET educators, trainers, and creative professionals in developing the competencies necessary to design, evaluate, and use AI systems that respect diversity and foster equality.

Main Goals of the Project

Through its innovative approach, D2CIN aims to achieve three overarching goals:

  1. Enhance AI-Driven Inclusive Education:
Develop ethical guidelines and practical frameworks for designing and deploying unbiased, accessible conversational AI tools in education and training.

  2. Advance Digital AI Literacy and Readiness:
Build participants’ capacity through hands-on workshops focusing on AI Bias Recognition and Mitigation, Ethical AI Model Development, Inclusive UX Design, and Digital Storytelling.

  3. Innovate Adaptive AI-Based VET Training:
Implement inclusive conversational AI solutions that foster equitable learning opportunities and measurable social impact across diverse learning environments.

Planned Activities

To meet these goals, the D2CIN consortium will implement three key activities:

  1. Development of the Personalized Feedback Navigator:
A digital tool designed to assess and enhance inclusive conversational AI training by providing personalized insights and adaptive feedback to learners and educators.

  2. Creation of the “Accessible AI for Education” Handbook:
A comprehensive resource offering clear, actionable guidelines on integrating ethical, unbiased, and accessible AI into educational and training settings.

  3. Interactive Workshops, Pilot Assessments, and Launch Conferences:
Each partner will organise a series of practical workshops, followed by pilot testing and evaluation sessions. Two final conferences will disseminate the project outcomes, showcasing the results to VET educators, AI technologists, and stakeholders committed to responsible AI development.

Expected Results and Impact

By the end of its 12-month implementation, the D2CIN project will produce tangible results that directly benefit learners, educators, and organisations across Europe. Among the expected outcomes are:

  • A tailored Personalized Feedback Navigator and Accessible AI Handbook, equipping over 56 learners with essential skills in bias mitigation, accessibility, and adaptive learning design.

  • A series of interactive workshops enhancing competencies in Digital Storytelling and Inclusive UX Design, fostering a scalable model for inclusive AI education.

  • Two major dissemination conferences, providing opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and long-term collaboration among stakeholders in AI, education, and inclusion.

A Step Toward a More Inclusive Digital Future

The D2CIN project represents an important step toward aligning Europe’s digital transformation with the values of inclusion, equality, and accessibility. By empowering educators and professionals with practical AI literacy skills, the project supports the EU’s broader goals of ethical technology adoption and inclusive digital innovation.

As the project progresses, regular updates, resources, and event announcements will be published on this website and the project’s LinkedIn page.

Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting journey to craft inclusive AI narratives for a fairer digital future.
