On October 10th, 2025, the consortium partners of the Erasmus+ co-funded project Digital Diversity: Crafting Inclusive AI Narratives (D2CIN) — Project No. 2025-1-DE02-KA210-VET-000354956 — gathered in Berlin, Germany for the Kick-off Transnational Project Meeting, hosted by the project coordinator Mimic Productions GmbH. The meeting marked the official launch of this one-year initiative dedicated to promoting inclusive, ethical, and accessible uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in vocational education and training (VET).
The D2CIN project brings together Mimic Productions GmbH from Germany and Budakov Films Ltd from Bulgaria. The partnership aims to explore how AI technologies can be designed, understood, and implemented in ways that respect human diversity, foster inclusion, and support fair access to digital innovation. Through a series of educational tools, workshops, and open outreach activities, D2CIN will strengthen the capacity of educators, creative professionals, and VET learners to engage critically and constructively with AI systems.
The Kick-off Meeting, held at Mimic Productions GmbH’s headquarters in Berlin, provided an excellent opportunity for partners to review the project’s goals, structure, and expected outcomes. The session began with welcoming remarks and introductions, followed by presentations of the participating organizations and their project teams. The consortium discussed the overall vision of D2CIN, emphasizing the importance of integrating inclusivity and ethics into every stage of AI education and development.
A substantial portion of the meeting was dedicated to defining the project’s key operational frameworks. Mimic Productions led the discussion on project coordination, partnership agreements, and financial management procedures, ensuring that all administrative and accountability aspects are clearly aligned with Erasmus+ standards. The consortium also reviewed the three core activities of the project:
Activity 1 focuses on developing the conceptual and methodological foundations for inclusive AI education.
Activity 2 aims to design and produce the Inclusive AI Handbook and Personalized Feedback Navigator.
Activity 3 will pilot these tools through interactive workshops and a collaborative outreach summit, promoting wide engagement across the VET community.
Budakov Films Ltd led a detailed presentation on the Dissemination and Quality Management Frameworks, outlining the project’s communication strategy, visibility actions, and quality assurance mechanisms. The discussion also included planning for an Open Public Event, which will serve as an important platform for presenting early project findings and engaging with educators, AI experts, and stakeholders from the creative and technological sectors.
The meeting concluded with a strong sense of partnership and shared purpose. Both organizations expressed their commitment to ensuring that D2CIN not only meets its objectives but also contributes to the broader European dialogue on responsible and inclusive digital transformation.
By combining technical expertise, creative innovation, and educational insight, D2CIN aspires to become a model of how cross-border collaboration can help shape a fair and human-centered AI future in vocational education.
